TheTasteHQ is an independent recipe site. This page explains who runs it, how its recipes and guides are made, and the standards it holds itself to.
Mission
To give home cooks clear, carefully researched recipes from Pakistan, India, Italy, France and Korea, with desserts and drinks, in metric and US measurements, and to be honest about how they are made.
Ownership and funding
TheTasteHQ is owned and run by OBY and is based in the Netherlands. It’s funded by advertising. No brand or company pays for recipes or has any say over what we publish.
Who is behind it
The editor is OBY. The editor sets the rules the writing system follows, reviews the recipes, and corrects mistakes. Contact: hello@thetastehq.com.
How recipes are made
Recipes and guides on TheTasteHQ are written with AI assistance and reviewed by a human editor. Here’s the process.
- Twice a day, the system picks the next dish from a fixed 16-slot schedule that covers each cuisine, desserts, drinks, quick dishes and plant-based dishes, and skips dishes already published.
- It researches the dish on the web: traditional ingredients, proportions, method and timings are checked against several reliable cooking sources, and food-safety advice against national food-safety agencies. It then writes an original recipe using Claude, an AI model made by Anthropic.
- Automatic checks run before posting. A recipe with missing amounts, impossible times, an unfinished text, pork or alcohol in the ingredient list, or diet tags the ingredients don’t support is not posted as written.
- The recipe is posted to the site.
- A human editor reviews the recipes, corrects mistakes, and adds a dated note to any recipe that changes.
Not tested in a kitchen
We don’t claim to have cooked, tested or tasted these recipes, because we haven’t. They are researched and checked, not kitchen-tested. Taste and adjust as you go, and treat times as a guide. We don’t show star ratings or reviews, because there are none to show.
Read with care
AI writing gets facts wrong with total confidence. Human review can’t catch every error, and a mistake can stay up until the editor spots it or you tell us. Before you rely on a cooking time, a temperature, a storage time or an allergen note, check it against the sources linked at the bottom of the article and your own food-safety agency.
Sources and attribution
Every article ends with a list of the sources it drew on, linked. We write our own text and our own method. We don’t copy other sites’ recipes or wording.
Measurements
Recipes use metric measurements (grams, millilitres, °C) by default. A switch on every recipe card shows US measurements (ounces, cups, °F). US amounts for weights and liquids are converted and checked automatically; cup measures of dry ingredients such as flour are approximations, so weigh them when you can.
Diets and allergens
Each recipe shows a diet tag (Halal, Vegan, Vegetarian, Gluten-Free, Dairy-Free, Keto) only when its ingredient list supports it, and an allergen line for common allergens. Halal means no pork and no alcohol in the recipe; use halal-certified meat. Our checks are automated and can miss things. Always read product labels.
No pork, no alcohol
This site has no pork and no alcohol in any recipe. Where a classic dish normally uses wine, brandy or bacon, we write an adapted version and say so.
Images
Header images marked “AI-generated image” are created with Google Gemini. They show the kind of dish described, not a photo of the recipe as cooked, and may look different from your result. Images credited to Pixabay are real stock photos. A line under the article credits any official press picture to the organisation it came from.
Corrections
If you find an error, tell us through the contact page. Corrections are made the same day, with a dated note at the bottom of the article explaining what changed. We don’t quietly edit and pretend it never happened.
What we don’t do
- No sponsored recipes dressed up as editorial.
- No paid links.
- No guest posts.
- No fake ratings, reviews or “tested in our kitchen” claims.
- No calorie counts or health claims.
